More than 30 thousand specimens which are exhibited in 24 halls occupying 8 thousand square meters illustrate the origin, structure and evolution of the Earth, its plant and animal life, its past and present, the history of the material culture of the tribes and peoples that inhabited the territory of Ukraine. Museum exposition depicts the reasons of catastrophe occurred in 1986 on Chernobyl atomic station, tells about radiation influence on animal and plant life, about heroic actions of liquidators. Exposition represents the coins collection of Ancient Greece, Roma, Kievan Rus, Byzantine and also unique collection of coins issued in honor of XXII Olympic Games which were held in Soviet Union in 1980.

One of the three Kiev synagogues the Brodskiy synagogue is located in the very center of Kiev. This building erected in 1898, was confiscated by soviet power in 1926 and returned back to Jewish community only in 1997.  There is a small museum in the hall of synagogue — hanukkia created by famous Israel sculptor Frank Maisler, fragment of Torah scroll of II-V century, copy of the key from the synagogue opening in 1898, antique books, kippahs, tephillines, mezuzas, candle-holders. Building was used as Jewish religious center during thirty years. In 1926 it was confiscated by the soviet power. First it was turned into handicraftsman club, later on into puppet show. During the Second World war it was used as a stable for the army horses. After Ukraine independence started negotiations about returning building to Jewish community. In 1992 after many years for the first time was celebrated Hanukkah. In 1997 puppet show moved to a new building and in 2000 it was celebrated grand opening of the renovated Kiev central synagogue.

The A.V. Fomin Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Ukraine, located in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.In 1839 the Kiev Taras Shevchenko University opened its own botanical garden. The botanical garden is 22.5 hectares (0.225 km²), with 8,000 plant species, including 143 recorded in the Ukraine’s Red Book of Rare Species. The greenhouse, which was built for the largest and the oldest palm trees in Northern Eurasia, is among the highest in the world. In 1935 the garden was named after the academician and botanist Aleksandr Vasiljevich Fomin, who directed the garden for years. The vestibule of the Kiev Metro station Universytet, is located on the northern edge of the garden, which was opened in 1960.

Vydubychi Monastery is an historic monastery in the Ukrainian capital Kiev During the Soviet period ot housed the NANU Institute of Archaeology. The monastery was established between 1070 and 1077 by Vsevolod, son of Yaroslav the Wise. It was a family cloister of Vsevolod’s son Vladimir Monomakh and his descendants. The monastery was continuously protected by Ukraine’s hetmans and aristocratic families. Hetman Ivan Mazepa in 1695 forbade the Vydubytskyi Monastery’s neighbors to “do injustice to the monastery” and placed it under the guard of Starodub Regiment Col. Mykhailo Myklashevskyi, who established the Baroque-style Church of St. George and new Transfiguration Refectory. Hetman Danylo Apostol subsidised construction of the monastery’s bell tower. The M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden  is located in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden is a botanical garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. It is named after the Soviet botanist Mykola Hryshko who was born in Poltava. Founded in 1936, the garden covers 1.3 km² (120 hectares) and contains 13,000 types of trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants from all over the world. It has many coniferous trees and honey locusts, and flowers such as peonies, roses, magnolias, and bushes including lilacs. The garden has hothouses, conservatories, greenhouses and rosaries. It is the most popular amongst the residents, where one can see exotic plants, and attend flower exhibitions. The blooming lilacs at the end of spring are popular in the central garden.  

The Kiev Funicular  serves the city of Kiev, connecting the historic Uppertown, and the lower commercial neighborhood of Podil through the steep Volodymyrska Hill overseeing the Dnieper River. The line consists of only two stations and is operated by the Kiev city community enterprise Kyivpastrans. The funicular uses the two rail and passing-loop system. The two cars are designated with the Cyrillic letters Λ and П which stand for left and right. The funicular was renovated three times: in 1928, 1958, and 1984. Track gauge: 1,200 mm (3 ft 11 1⁄4 in). Total track length: 238 meters (781 ft). The total gradient of the slope on which the funicular runs on is 36%. The cable cars are powered by an electric motor which is located inside the upper station. The travel time between the stations is approximately 3 minutes. The route is from the Mykhailivska Square in the Uptown to the Poshtova Square in the Podil. The ticket price is much like for the other city-owned public transportation methods, 3 Hryvnias (approx. 0.15 US Dollars – as of May 2015). The funicular provides daily service to 10,000-15,000 passengers, and annually to 2.8 million passengers.

St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery is a functioning monastery in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The monastery is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River on the edge of a bluff northeast of the Saint Sophia Cathedral. The site is located in the historic administrative Uppertown and overlooks the city’s historical commercial and merchant quarter, the Podil neighbourhood. Originally built in the Middle Ages by Sviatopolk II Iziaslavych, the monastery comprises the Cathedral itself, the Refectory of St. John the Divine, built in 1713, the Economic Gates, constructed in 1760 and the monastery’s bell tower, which was added c. 1716–1719. The exterior of the structure was rebuilt in the Ukrainian Baroque style in the 18th century while the interior remained in its original Byzantine style The original cathedral was demolished by the Soviet authorities in the 1930s, but was reconstructed and opened in 1999 following Ukrainian independence in 1991.
